Started Oyster Farming in 2008 on the shores of Loch Harport, supplying wholesale and hotels throughout Skye and Lochalsh aswell as SSMG, grew the farm up too 2 million oysters. In 2011 a form of vibrio went through the oyster beds and over 1.75 million oysters where lost. I opened the Oyster Shed in 2012 to sell directly to the public for a better price than the wholesale market could offer with the few shells that where left after the loss, not knowing if the business would survive. Today we source oysters from all over the UK. Our seafood kitchen was opened in 2015 offering a selection of hot seafood from Skye, the hebrides and further afield. We open Monday to Saturday 11 to 5.
